Members of Kelso 41 Club have raised more than £1,000 in support of the OYT North during the past year.
The cause was chosen by national president Malcolm Lockey – a Kelso 41 Club member – as his nominated charity during his year of office. The cash, in the form of a cheque, was handed over to Steve Lennon from the OYT. The trust provides outward-bound sailing opportunities for young people, including those who have a physical handicap.
Mr Lockey said: “I chose OYT as my preferred charity because I knew that it changes young lives for the better and does outstanding work with youngsters from the whole of the UK and Ireland. I’m grateful for the support that my own club has given to the charity.”
