Building Well-Being and Social Skills on Board
End of voyage evaluations highlight the significant role of our professional and volunteer sea staff in supporting our young crews to make the most of their time on-board.
The ‘well-being’ of young people is important for our society. This collective description includes self-concept, self-confidence, self-esteem, social confidence and interpersonal skills. All these areas contribute towards how people feel and function, both on a personal and a social level, and how they evaluate their lives as a whole.
A raised sense of wellbeing is a key factor that gives young people resilience and allows them to prepare for the rigours of adulthood, work, life-long learning and active participation in society.
