Aims and Objectives

Ocean Youth Trust North uses the ‘Adventure under sail’ to help young people onboard learn a variety of transferable and interpersonal skills that in the short term enable them to take control of their own voyage, and subsequently their own lives.
These skills include:

Greater self-confidence
Respect for yourself and others
Effective teamwork
Communication and social skills
Developing a sense of community
Forward planning and problem solving
Leadership
Focus and determination

Ocean Youth Trust North is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved Sea School, a member of the Association of Sail Training Organisations (ASTO) and an associate of RYA Sailability, the national body for disabled sailing.
